cigarettes..We sat in a shady silence. I watched him put a cigarette to his lips, then the flame of the lighter, which reduced itself to a dim red glow upon the end of the cigarette. He took a long slow drag, and I continued to watch him. His old shirt hung off my shoulders, and it was far too big for me. He always told me this, and I never cared. It was comfortable, and it smelt like him. I sipped my coffee, my hands wrapped around the warm mug. He offered me the cigarette, and in return I handed him my coffee.
